Editing

If you’ve read More Great, you know the story of how I started editing. On my first paid project, God showed me that editing is a redemptive art. He amazed me as I watched him transform the weakest sections of the project into its strongest–like beauty from ashes. With each project since then, I’ve been humbled to reveal God’s redemptive character in my work.

After I finished writing More Great, I contracted with LifeWay and the North American Mission Board, where I worked with national and local ministry leaders in missions, discipleship, church planting and church leadership. I also have experience helping media personalities turn their transcripts into articles or blog posts and helping pastors turn their sermons into books. As a former high school English and Latin teacher and a grader for a seminary writing class, I frequently edit academic works such as theses, dissertations, journal articles, CVs and personal statements. For fun, I edit stories and bios for a missions website. I’d love to help you tell your story too.

Please contact me to tell me about your writing project.

Thanks,

Melody

Happy Clients

Melody is the editing expert I’ve gone to for the past ten years. She has helped me write advocacy documents on global public health issues and tell my personal stories about working with Doctors Without Borders in Nigeria, Sudan and Uganda. When I review her comments and edits, I am always amazed at how she pulls my disorganized thoughts together and helps me paint a clear and poignant picture. She is also a joy to work with, keen to understand the topic at hand, available for discussion during the editing process, and dependable in meeting deadlines and expectations. I am thankful for having met Melody and benefited from her editing skills over the years.

Public Health Nurse

Melody has been my editor for the past four years, giving me guidance on a book project, several academic articles in top sociological journals, and my dissertation at Princeton University. I can safely say that my publication successes would have never happened without the attention to detail and the helpful comments Melody has given me over the past several years. She is quick, courteous and professional and treats my work as if it were her own.
